Ponce De Leon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They came up short against the Malone Tigers, falling 18-8. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.
Ponce De Leon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C Morris, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. W Johnson was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
As for Malone, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.
On Malone's side, Trenton Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Jordan a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kris Smith was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
