Even though the Ipswich Tigers have not done well against the Amesbury Redhawks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Ipswich took down Amesbury 62-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ipswich.
Several Redhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Celia Tavares, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ellison Talbot, who scored ten points.
Ipswich now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Amesbury, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Ipswich on the road again on Monday and play against North Reading at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for Amesbury, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Essex Tech at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Essex Tech is ranked 66th, while Amesbury is ranked 78th).
