The Oaks Christian Lions will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Rio Mesa Spartans at 5:00  p.m. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Oaks Christian: 2.3, Rio Mesa: 2.5) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 Last Tuesday, Oaks Christian was able to grind out a solid  victory over Westlake, taking the game  5-1. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Oaks Christian.
  Emelia Davis looked comfortable as she  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Ilove'a Brittingham was  incredible,  firing off three  home runs and four  RBI while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lily Knox, who  went 1-for-3 with a  home run.
 Meanwhile, Rio Mesa put the finishing touches on their 13th blowout victory of the season  on Wednesday. They blew past San Marcos 11-2.
  Jasmine Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on six hits.
 On the hitting side,  Jocelyn Gomez and  Alyssa Diaz did most of the damage at the plate:  Gomez  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Diaz  scored a  run while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Ciara Lopez, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Oaks Christian's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Rio Mesa, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record  this season.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oaks Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.8  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rio Mesa struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 9.2. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Oaks Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Rio Mesa  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023, sneaking past  3-2. Will Oaks Christian repeat their success,  or does  Rio Mesa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
