Natalie Stanton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Isa Ellis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Madison Supinger, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Patriot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Osbourn Park). Everything went their way against Osbourn on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three contests in a row.
The team relied heavily on Lydia Hirschy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Jenna Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Patriot's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Osbourn Park, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Patriot's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Pioneers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Osbourn Park, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Patriot continue to outrun the ball?
Patriot couldn't quite get it done against Osbourn Park when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Will the Pioneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
