The Westview Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sunset Apollos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Westview fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 40-33 victory over Beaverton on Thursday.
Irason Kekaualua was a one-man wrecking crew for Westview as he rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Heath Thompson was another key contributor, rushing for 154 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Sunset can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-0 win over Aloha. Given Sunset's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Aloha is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Westview to 2-6 and Sunset to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Westview against Sunset in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 37-7 win. Will Westview repeat their success, or does Sunset have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
