On Friday St. Edward will take on Walthill at 3:00 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the teams both put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
St. Edward's and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family's matchup last Friday was up for grabs at halftime, but St. Edward were thoroughly outmatched in the second half. St. Edward were completely outmatched, falling 40-83 to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family. St. Edward got a solid performance out of senior Lucien Ruby, who rushed for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. This marked the 6th match in which Ruby has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, Walthill put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Elba 56-0. Walthill were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Walthill's win lifted them to 4-3 while St. Edward's defeat dropped them down to 2-5. We'll find out if Walthill can add another positive mark to their record or if St. Edward can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Walthill's step.
