The Lee County Yellow Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Richmond 92-40. Lee County has struggled against Richmond recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Lee County saw an underclassman step up: Nic Farrow scored 17 points.
Lee County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Richmond pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Braylon Barfield, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds for Richmond. Barfield has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Paul McNeil Jr., who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Lee County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Richmond, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Scotland the next time they take the court. Lee County will head out to face Scotland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Richmond will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
