The Fremont Silverwolves will head out on the road to challenge the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row dating back to last season, Fremont turned things around against Uintah on Tuesday. They blew past the Utes 14-5. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Silverwolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Savannah Palmatier was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Olivia Broadbent also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Palmatier wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline faced Sky View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Ridgeline's pitcher stepped up to hand Sky View a 9-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Riverhawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Brielle Gardiner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Gardiner was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Buttars, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Wallace, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Ridgeline pushed their record up to 3-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Fremont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Fremont hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Fremont might still be hurting after the 19-5 loss they got from Ridgeline in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Fremont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
