On Friday, the American Fork Cavemen faced the Lone Peak Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. American Fork walked away with a 75-67 win over Lone Peak. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lone Peak's loss came despite strong showings from Thomsen Kramer and Chamberlain Burgess. Kramer scored 26 points, while Burgess scored 16 points along with four blocks and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kramer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ike Staley, who scored 11 points.
American Fork has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Lone Peak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
American Fork will head out on the road to take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Westlake likes a good challenge. As for Lone Peak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lehi at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehi has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 580 points over their last eight matchups.
