Eau Gallie has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Rockledge Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Eau Gallie suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-18 loss at the hands of Palm Bay. Eau Gallie has struggled against Palm Bay recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Rockledge has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Titusville by a score of 42-29 on Thursday.
Rockledge can attribute much of their success to Makaiya Watkins, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Jaida Williams-Goins, who scored 15 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Williams-Goins has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalia Christian, who scored no points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Eau Gallie's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Rockledge, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Eau Gallie took their win against Rockledge in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 55-34. With Eau Gallie ahead 30-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
