Clarion Area and Elk County Catholic are an even 3-3 against one another  since May of 2015, but likely not for long.   Devon Lauer made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Lauer was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs.
 In other batting news, Clarion Area got a big performance out of  Noah Harrison, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.  Tanner Miller was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Elk County Catholic scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-3  victory over Cameron County.
 Like Clarion Area, Elk County Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player:  Lance O'Neill. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. O'Neill has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. O'Neill was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 O'Neill wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Chase Simbeck, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 Clarion Area's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Elk County Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Elk County Catholic's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  Clarion Area hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .349. It's a different story for Elk County Catholic, though, as  they've  only  averaged .205. Will they be able to contain Clarion Area's hitters?
