The Seminole Ridge Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 59-50 to Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Seminole Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dreyfoos School of the Arts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Seminole Ridge still got an impressive performance from Giancarlos Romero, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Romero continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Calvin Warren was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Jimerson, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Jimerson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zidane Guerrier, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Seminole Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Seminole Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Glades Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sports Leadership & Management is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
