The South Oak Cliff Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wilson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Oak Cliff will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, South Oak Cliff didn't have too much trouble with White at home as they won 58-39.
Wilson posted their biggest victory since December 21, 2023 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-37 win over Jefferson at home. Given Wilson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Jefferson is ranked 1331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Deatherage led the charge by scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Deatherage pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leighton Bruscato, who scored nine points along with four steals.
South Oak Cliff is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Wilson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.
South Oak Cliff beat Wilson 58-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will South Oak Cliff repeat their success, or does Wilson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
