Central didn't have done well against Calera recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. The Central Falcons blew past the Calera Eagles 47-21. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  33-7.
 Central found their leader in underclassman  Armani White, who threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes.  Christian Bishop was  White's top target, picking up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 One reason for the win was Central's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Jackson Carlisle and  Pherron Dancy who racked up  five sacks between them. Dancy is also on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made six or more in the last six games he's  played dating back to last season.  Braylond Smith was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack, forcing a fumble, and making ten total tackles.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Central was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 329  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calera only rushed for 107.
 Despite the loss, Calera still got an impressive performance from   Antorious Johnson, who threw for 383 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance,  Johnson is now averaging an impressive 316.5  passing yards per game.  Cayden Specks also helped out with an impressive 82  receiving yards.
 Central's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-0. As for Calera,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
 Central will welcome Paul W. Bryant  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Calera, they will square off against Benjamin Russell at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
