Maury waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Manor Mustangs with a sharp 23-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Commodores also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.
Landon Strauss and Hunter Gillespie made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Strauss tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gillespie pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Strauss has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Strauss scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Gillespie scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
