The Front Range Baptist Falcons just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Loveland Classical Lions at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Front Range Baptist entered their tilt with Campion Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Front Range Baptist came out on top against Campion Academy by a score of 51-38 on Monday.
Front Range Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mark Sutton out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Sutton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Alex Prelog was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Loveland Classical earned a 46-38 win over Timnath on Saturday. Given Loveland Classical's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Timnath is ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Loveland Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caedon Meyer, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Sainz, who scored six points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Front Range Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Loveland Classical, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home.
Front Range Baptist couldn't quite finish off Loveland Classical in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 and fell 60-58. Can Front Range Baptist avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
