If the Fideles Christian Rangers were feeling good off their 52-15 takedown of the Killian Hill Christian Cougars last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fideles Christian suffered a rough 42-19 loss at the hands of Lanier Christian Academy on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Fideles Christian has suffered yet this season.
Defeat or not, Fideles Christian got some senior leadership from Laci Harkins and Jael Flinn. Harkins scored nine points, while Flinn. scored eight points. That was a full 47.4% of Fideles Christian's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Emma Flowers was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with nine steals for Lanier Christian Academy. Flowers hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Roberts, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Fideles Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Lanier Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fideles Christian will face off against Young Americans Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lanier Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Providence Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. Providence Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
