Faith Baptist's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Faith Orquiola, who had four digs and two aces, and Keira Correos, who had five aces and four digs. Orquiola is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for West Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Calvary Baptist 3-2 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since August 23rd.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was West Valley who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 16-25, 15-5.
West Valley's win came from a few key players Faith Baptist will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Deonys Ioane, who had nine kills, six digs, and two aces. Sheiann Rosales was another key player, getting 16 digs and four aces.
