Ryan Estrada had an outrageously good game for El Dorado as he rushed for 188 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown. Estrada was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Elijah Issa, who threw for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
Socorro's defeat was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.1 points per game. As for El Dorado, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-7.
Socorro will take on Coronado at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coronado presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Socorro in Texas (Coronado is ranked 466th, while Socorro is ranked 977th). As for El Dorado, they will be playing at home against Montwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
