Justin-Siena is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They came up short against Napa, falling 9-3.
Caiden Grimmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Tinsley, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, Casa Grande had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Casa Grande's win was all the more impressive since the Trojans were averaging only 3.16 runs allowed on the season.
Lila Partridge made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucy Da Roza, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Alex Giacomini was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Casa Grande lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Casa Grande pushed their record up to 15-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Justin-Siena, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
