Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake Extends Winning Streak to Three

Falls Lake waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Orange Panthers. The Firebirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The win didn't come easy: Orange scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-23.

Falls Lake's offense was headlined by Samuel Phelps and Forrest Beyles, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Malachi Voss and his 17 assists. Josue Nettlenton controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Falls Lake's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Lake will challenge Carrboro on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Orange and Durham School of the Arts will shake off the rust and duke it out on Thursday.
