Boquet Valley pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Schroon Lake. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Boquet Valley came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Wildcats are ranked 644th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jackson Hooper, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Leibeck, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Willsboro Central didn't have too much trouble with the Jaguars on the road last Tuesday as they won 42-26. That 16 point margin sets a new team best for Willsboro Central this season.
Boquet Valley's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2. As for Willsboro Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Boquet Valley against the Warriors in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 69-23 win. Does Boquet Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
