The Severance Silver Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 71-39 defeat at the hands of Riverdale Ridge. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Severance in their matchups with Riverdale Ridge: they've now lost five in a row.
Severance's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Crownhart, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Attley Helzer, who scored 15 points.
Severance's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Severance won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Thompson Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Thompson Valley is ranked 106th, while Severance is ranked 118th). As for Riverdale Ridge, they will be playing at home against Niwot at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Niwot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 last Monday.
