The Randleman Tigers are on the road again on Friday and plays the Providence Grove Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Randleman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Providence Grove likes a good challenge.
A well-balanced attack led Randleman over Uwharrie Charter in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Randleman enjoyed a cozy 69-50 win over Uwharrie Charter. Given Randleman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Uwharrie Charter is ranked 442nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Randleman's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tyshaun Goldston, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Greg Price, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Goldston hasn't dropped below 16 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jireh Price, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-51, which was the final score in Providence Grove's tilt against Trinity on Tuesday. Providence Grove has not had much luck with Trinity recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Randleman is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Providence Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Randleman was able to grind out a solid win over Providence Grove in their previous matchup back in January, winning 59-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randleman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
