Volleyball Recap: Roosevelt Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Roosevelt's tournament run continued when they took on Montebello on Saturday. The Rough Riders came out on top against the Oilers by a score of 2-0.

Roosevelt not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Montebello between 18 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18.

Dalia Sanchez paced Roosevelt's offense, picking up four kills. Sanchez got some help from Kaley Munoz and her seven assists. Munoz also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natalie Vasquez, racking up two apiece.

Roosevelt's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Montebello, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Leuzinger on the 23rd. As for Montebello, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Maranatha on the 23rd.
