The Phoenix Military Firebirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 80-65 to Chicago Tech. Phoenix Military was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chicago Tech apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Jonathan Harris, who scored 33 points for Chicago Tech. That makes it four consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Chicago Tech's points. Artis El was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Phoenix Military bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Chicago Tech, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phoenix Military will take on Clemente at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chicago Tech won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Legal Prep at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Legal Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 207 points over their last three matches.
