The Ripley Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Sheffield Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Ripley is ranked 186th, while Sheffield is ranked 208th).
Last Thursday, Ripley was beaten by Dyersburg 45-15. Ripley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Sheffield had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over Wooddale. Considering Sheffield has won five games by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Sheffield's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Davion Sledge, who threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns, and Radarious Jackson, who picked up 110 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Dyersburg's victory bumped their season record to 10-0 while Ripley's defeat dropped theirs to 6-4.
Ripley didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sheffield in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 26-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Sheffield's Mark Joseph, who rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Ripley to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
