The Gila Bend Gila Monsters had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured a 67-62 W over Harvest Prep Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Harvest Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being KJ Legette, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Legette has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Cordova, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Gila Bend's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Harvest Prep Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
Gila Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harvest Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against Ajo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harvest Prep Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Ajo is ranked 136th).
