Given Valor Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Arapahoe is ranked 59th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valor Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Jones, who scored 26 points along with 3 steals. The matchup was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Vansickle, who scored 19 points along with 5 steals.
Valor Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Arapahoe, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valor Christian will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Regis Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Arapahoe, they will challenge Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
