The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets entered their tilt with the South Aiken Thoroughbreds with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Aiken walked away with a 52-42 win over South Aiken on Tuesday. This was payback for Aiken, who suffered a 42-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Aiken's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Norriyah Bradley, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Bradley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last six games she's played. Azaria Sapp was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
South Aiken lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zanayia Harrison, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Sumara Williams, who scored 11 points.
Aiken pushed their record up to 14-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for South Aiken, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
