Softball Recap: North Stafford Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

North Stafford got themselves on the board against Massaponax on Friday, but Massaponax never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 10-0 win. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Kaylie DeChicchis made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Addy Aragon and Kelsie Jacques did most of the damage at the plate: Aragon went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Jacques went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Jacques has posted since back in March. Presleigh Jennings was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

North Stafford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

North Stafford pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.75 runs across that stretch. As for Massaponax, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. North Stafford will face off against rival Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wolverines 3.4, the Wildcats 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Massaponax is set to challenge their familiar foe Stafford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
