Despite the loss, Oakwood still got an impressive performance from Jaydah Arrowsmith, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 47.7% of Oakwood's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luci Morris was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hoopeston is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Oakwood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Hoopeston will head out on the road to square off against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Oakwood on the road again on Wednesday and play against Westville at 5:00 p.m. on January 17th. Westville has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27.
