The Jordan Warriors will challenge the Mayde Creek Rams at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Jordan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Mayde Creek's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Jordan got the win against Tompkins by a conclusive 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Olivia Sexton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan McIntosh, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Royse, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Jordan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Mayde Creek hadn't done well against Katy Taylor recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Mustangs.
Hannah Barras made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Christine Ferra was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season. Ava Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mayde Creek, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-11.
Mayde Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. It's a different story for Mayde Creek, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Jordan's hitters?
Everything went Jordan's way against Mayde Creek when the teams last played back in February, as Jordan made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
