The Corliss Trojans were the 35-23 winner over the DuSable Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Corliss ended up on the wrong side of a rough 43-21 walloping at the hands of DuSable on Wednesday.
DuSable found their leader in underclassman Lanae Harris, who scored 18 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Damaya Plant, who scored 11 points.
Corliss' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for DuSable, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corliss will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Harlan at 5:00 p.m. on December 15th. Harlan comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for DuSable, they will head out on the road to face off against Air Force Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Air Force Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
