The Linden-McKinley Panthers were the 54-29 winner over the East Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Linden-McKinley took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday. Linden-McKinley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Linden-McKinley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christiana Towns, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tamiya Harrington, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
It was another big night for Kaliyah Barron, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds for East. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Barron has scored at least a third of East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yanni Smith, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Linden-McKinley's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8. As for East, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden-McKinley will take on the Stars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
