South Paulding and Hiram are an even 2-2-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The South Paulding Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Hiram Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither South Paulding nor Hiram posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Last Friday, South Paulding kept a clean sheet against Chapel Hill. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Hiram's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Kell. Hiram has struggled against Kell recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The win got South Paulding back to even at 1-1. As for Hiram, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything went South Paulding's way against Hiram in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as South Paulding made off with a 6-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Paulding since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
