Ore City's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They didn't even let Carlisle on the board, marking the Rebels' second-straight 18-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won eight in a row.
Madalyn Chambers made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mazye Hawkins was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Keylee Richardson, who earned one RBI, three runs, and four stolen bases.
Ore City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carlisle only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Harleton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Overton 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 1, 2025.
Harleton let Annabelle Green and Aleigha Hamm run wild. Green got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles, while Hamm went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was Hamm's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Favela, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Ore City's record is now 12-14-1. As for Harleton, their record now sits at 7-18-1.
Ore City came up short against Harleton in their previous meeting back in February, falling 7-3. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
