The Benicia Panthers will head out to challenge the Las Lomas Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Benicia came up short against College Park on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
While Benicia had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Benicia had strong showings from Zoe Cohen, who had 13 digs and two assists, and Lydia Flanagan, who had four assists and three aces. Cohen has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.
Meanwhile, Las Lomas didn't have quite enough to beat Campolindo on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-16 in the first set.
Las Lomas started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 17-25, 25-11, 25-21, 15-13.
The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 22-6. As for Benicia, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.
Benicia was able to grind out a solid victory over Las Lomas in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
