It was a good run, but the Altamont Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dieterich. Altamont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dieterich apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 5th.
Despite the loss, Altamont still got an impressive performance from Kaidyn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aden McManaway, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Lucas Westendorf continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dieterich, scoring 27 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Westendorf has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Gephart, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Altamont's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Dieterich, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Altamont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Brownstown/St. Elmo is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Dieterich, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Anthony at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. St. Anthony presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dieterich in Illinois (St. Anthony is ranked 76th, while Dieterich is ranked 221st).
