The Mountlake Terrace Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Cedar Park Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Mountlake Terrace took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Marysville Getchell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mountlake Terrace had just enough and edged out Marysville Getchell 11-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.
Charlotte Snook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Snook was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jordyn Stokes was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caroline Mehring, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Cedar Park Christian beat Lakewood 10-5 on Tuesday.
Like Mountlake Terrace, Cedar Park Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabela Stewart. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Stewart was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cedar Park Christian got a big performance out of Evoleht Stuhr, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Katelyn Charlton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Cedar Park Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood only posted a batting average of .250.
Cedar Park Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Mountlake Terrace, their record is now 2-0.
