Maysville hasn't had much luck against Tri-Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Scotties at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Maysville turned things around against Coshocton last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Redskins by a score of 7-4.

JAKE DEAL spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Maysville's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Maysville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KOLTON GIFFORD, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. KALE RILEY was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They never let the Little Muskies get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Scotties, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Gavin Harrold made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Quinton Hindel looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Lamonica, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Brady Kaufman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Glenn only posted an OBP of .118.
Tri-Valley pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Maysville, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-12.
Maysville might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Tri-Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
