5A District 1 recap November 5, 2013
Graves County added to the longest winning streak in 5A District 1 this week by beating Marshall County, 49-28. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
Apollo fell to North Hopkins 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Christian County's dynamic duo of Dixon Craft and Keyron Catlett proved tough for McCracken County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Craft threw for 317 yards and 3 touchdowns and Catlett had 182 yards receiving. Muncie Prater helped Christian County's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 37 yards.
Cody Crider was a beast in the backfield as Graves County defeated the Marshals.
Crider provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Lance Gregory's team bested Marshall County. Crider's favorite target this week was Jake Williams, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.
He went 19-25 with 1 interception.
Graves County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Peyton Puckett has thrown for 1,826 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Williams has 41 catches for 705 yards.
The Eagles' Puckett is within 174 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Greenwood.
Graves County led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Ron Barnard's team. Crider ran for 337 yards and caught 1 pass for 32 yards during the win.
