The Mainland Buccaneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 86-77 win over Tampa Catholic. The victory was nothing new for Mainland as they're now sitting on five straight.
Mainland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kade Manley, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Narayan Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds.
Mainland's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tampa Catholic, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mainland will finish 2023 at home by hosting Palm Beach Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tampa Catholic will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bergen Catholic at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
