Curwensville is on a four-game streak of home losses, Glendale a six-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Curwensville Golden Tide will take on the Glendale Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Curwensville was not quite Juniata Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. Curwensville received a tough blow as they fell 35-21 to Juniata Valley.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sammy Gustafson, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Butler, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Glendale ended up a good deal behind West Branch on Friday and lost 35-21.
The losing side was boosted by Troy Misiura, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Even if they lost, Glendale's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Daniel Williams and his two sacks.
Curwensville has not been sharp this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight matchups, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Curwensville might still be hurting after the 49-23 loss they got from Glendale in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Curwensville, Zeke Dubler (who rushed for 319 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
