Basketball Game Preview: Timber Creek Falcons vs. Bell Blue Raiders

The Timber Creek Falcons will face off against the Bell Blue Raiders at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Timber Creek will be strutting in after a win while Bell will be coming in after a loss.

Timber Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 50-31 victory over Northwest. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Texans are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jillian Topping had an outrageously good game as she went 8 for 13 on her way to 22 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Elena Gonzalez was another key player, putting up six points along with six steals and five boards.

Timber Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bell didn't have quite enough to beat Trinity on Friday and fell 52-49. The Blue Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Timber Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Timber Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Bell when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 39-32. Does Timber Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
