On the hitting side, Evergreen Park's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michael Koziczkowski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Oak Lawn entered their tilt with Lincoln Park on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Lions.
Zack Ullrich made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oak Lawn pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Evergreen Park, their record is now 19-8.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Evergreen Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Oak Lawn struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evergreen Park might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Oak Lawn when the teams last played back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
