Holy Ground Baptist Academy and Solid Rock Academy face off this Friday to determine whose season will come to a close. Solid Rock Academy will need to watch out since Holy Ground Baptist Academy has posted big point totals in its previous five matchups.
The MaxPreps state rankings suggested a blowout in Holy Ground Baptist Academy's previous game, and that is exactly what happened. It breezed past Central Christian last week with a final score of 50 - 20. Junior Jackson Yates was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns). Yates should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Holy Ground Baptist Academy in the past five games. Sophomore Isaiah Rice was in the mix too, providing Holy Ground Baptist Academy with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Solid Rock Academy can now show off five landslide victories after its most recent game. It took its game against Hearts Academy last week by a confident 57 - 34 score. The game was close at halftime (21 - 14), but Solid Rock Academy broke away in the second half.
Their wins bumped Holy Ground Baptist Academy to 10-0 and Solid Rock Academy to 9-2. Both Solid Rock Academy and Holy Ground Baptist Academy are bound to feel confident after their prior matchups, but one team's ego will take a hit. We'll see which one when the teams meet up this week.
