Softball Recap: Palmetto Gets the Win

While Palmetto's victory against Woodruff wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Palmetto narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Woodruff 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won five in a row.

Landry Woodson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

Woodson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palmetto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Palmetto's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Woodruff, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmetto will welcome Southside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodruff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fountain Inn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
