Zaena Harris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she's stolen this season.
In other batting news, Kennedy Reliford was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Syriah Shaw, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Luella always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Zion only posted an OBP of .250.
Upson-Lee's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Luella, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
