Lakeside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Royal Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Lakeside: 12.5, Royal: 4) so any points scored will be well earned.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lakeside walked away with it. They slipped by the Pioneers 24-23 on Saturday. 24 seems to be a good number for Lakeside as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Royal put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Seton Catholic, posting a 42-0 victory at home. Fans of Royal have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Lance Allred and Ethan Ellis were among the main playmakers for Royal as the former rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Lakeside has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Royal, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Lakeside took a serious blow against Royal in their previous meeting back in November of 2014, falling 49-7. Thankfully for Lakeside, Miguel Ayala (who rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
